Hello Mechatronitians!
Welcome to this new post in our Sinadrives blog.
January 2022
With 2021 behind us, here at Sinadrives we’d like to discuss the main trends and developments that 2022 has in store for us. On this occasion, rather than focusing on the dedicated topics of our Technical Blog, related to linear motors, we’d like to offer a macroeconomic view. Our conclusions for the future are based on our own experience and that of our customers, suppliers and distributors.

FACTORS, TRENDS AND CURRENTS FOR 2022
Component shortages
For the industrial sector, whose activity is based on the production of machinery or other products that require an electricity supply, it’s no secret that there’s a problem with the supply of components and material (especially in the semiconductor sector), and this will be a key factor in 2022.
How long will the component crisis last in 2022?
The minimum waiting time for orders placed now is between 4 and 6 months (roughly the second semester of the year). Companies without stock will have to carefully monitor the delivery times quoted by their suppliers. At Sinadrives, we’d like to reassure you that our entire product range is available, with the usual delivery times.
How will the shortage of components affect prices?
The longer the crisis goes on in 2022, the more the increase in prices will be reflected in consumer products. The supply and demand factor will continue to wreaking havoc on the commercialization prices of manufacturers, which may lead them to increase the prices of their end products.

Innovation will continue to be crucial, but with a different focus.
Every company seeks to improve its processes in order to optimize resources. This will continue to apply in 2022, but we’ll see a strong trend towards reusing resources and using replacement materials for those that are out of stock.
Digital transformation in: production, commercialization, distribution and after-sales service
The use of technology in the day-to-day running of companies will continue to be crucial. There will be a strong focus on software, especially in the case of SMEs, which have thus far been reluctant to take the plunge due to a lack of means, but which now see the implementation of this kind of software as a priority for keeping their businesses running during the pandemic. They will generally turn to cloud computing options rather than classic on-premises software, mainly in the following areas:
Enterprise management in 2022
The implementation and development of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software will remain a priority for companies as a means to manage their internal processes. One of the challenges facing many companies will be to link their ERP software to new business technology related to production, such as machine learning, blockchain, IOT, predictive maintenance, etc. Meanwhile, e-commerce will be a highly viable distribution channel for companies that make the shift from specific solutions to standard format products, as well as for those whose usual activity has suffered under the impact of this exceptional situation.
Innovation will continue to be crucial, but with a different focus.
There will be a clear trend towards customer-centred marketing. Both B2C and B2B businesses will continue to opt for strategies and tools that tailor their message to the person with the power to make purchase decisions and that are adapted to the “buyer persona”. In 2022 we will see a further decline in investments in mass communication, while the use of less conventional techniques that adopt a pull marketing strategy will be the criterion to follow.
Robotic process automation
The logistics sector will continue to focus on robotic process automation in order to eliminate errors, maximize accuracy and optimize resources. Products such as linear motors will be consolidated as a guaranteed means to improve the production and quality of machines.
Environmental impact
Sustainability will continue to be one of the key strands of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in 2022, reflected in aspects such as waste reduction (for instance, the use of greener packaging or the increased promotion of paperless offices by means of electronic signature technology, etc.) and the increased use of hybrid and electric company cars, in order to reduce the corporate carbon footprint. The initials ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) will become another key factor in purchasing practices.
